Snow and Ice

Over the last few years I have accumulated quite a few winter images, many of them from Mt Seymour Provincial Park. In fact I almost called this gallery "Mt. Seymour". The reason behind so many snowy scenes from one area is simple, Mt. Seymour is the closest alpine area to where I live. The mountain offers me quick access, exercise, stunning views of the Coast Mountains and often gets a boat load of snow. The difficult part about winter photography is contending with the cold and getting around. For a faster pace and dealing with deep snow skis are  the best way to go although for moving around with a camera and tripod snowshoes have proven to be an invaluable piece of equipment. I love the changing landscape that snow offers, especially when everything in the scene is covered in a thick blanket of the stuff.
