Alpine Larch    Alpine Lakes Wilderness, Washington, USA

The Enchantments in the Alpine Lakes Wilderness is a great place to isolate alpine Larch such as the one in this image. I am always on the prowl for scenes like this were I can simplify my composition to the bare essentials. Light is so important in photography. Without any backlighting the lone tree would have blended into the background rocks.
