Something to Lean On    San Juan Bridge Rec. Site, Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada

I was on my way to Cowichan Lake and just happened to take a short detour through to the San Juan River Bridge Recreation Site. I stopped to have something to eat and came across this massive Sitka Spruce. Turns out that this particular spruce is the largest in Canada and second largest in the world. After a bit of research it turns out that the Carmanah giant is 100 feet taller and the Brooks Peninsula tree is wider but out of the three this tree contains the largest amount of wood.
