Stoltman Grove    Carmanah/Walbran Provincial Park, Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Canada

Carmanah was a real hotbed of controversy back in the eighties when logging threatened this spectacular section of forest. Today the Carmanah Walbran valley is a provincial park but it is sad to see such devastation surrounding the area.

The grove of sitka spruce depicted in this image are known as the Stoltman grove, named after conservationist Randy Stoltman.
