Waters Edge    Deer Lake Regional Park, Burnaby, British Columbia, Canada

A tangle of western red cedar roots sprinkled with vine maple leaves cling to the shoreline of Deer Lake. Since taking this image several years ago these lovely roots have been swallowed up by the lake. One of the trees has died and now lies in the water.
